President Mahama nominates new ambassadors and high commissioners

President of the Republic of Ghana has nominated a new batch of ambassadors and high commissioners as part of efforts to deepen the country’s diplomatic ties across the globe.

In a letter dated July 21, 2025, addressed to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and signed by Dr. Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President, it was disclosed that eight individuals have been nominated following consultations with the Council of State.

Among the nominees are Alhaji Abdul-Rahman Harruna Attah who has been designated for Namibia, Kojo Choi for South Korea, Dr. Kwame Ampofo for Hungary, and Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey for the Italian Republic. Also included are Magnus Kofi Amoatey heading to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenneth Akiibate to Burkina Faso, Said Saleh Sinare to Saudi Arabia, and Paul Evans Aidoo to Kenya.

The letter also announced a change in Ghana’s representation to the Vatican City State, indicating that Mr. Benedict Batabe Assorow will replace Mrs. Satireh Dorcas Ocran as Ambassador-designate.
