Prof Peter A. Atupare appointed Dean of the University of Ghana School of Law

Prof. Peter Atudiwe Atupare has been appointed the new Dean of the University of Ghana School of Law. His appointment will take effect on August 1, 2025, according to a memorandum issued on May, 30, 2025 by the Registrar of the University of Ghana, Mrs Emelia Agyei-Mensah.
Prof Atupare, a distinguished teacher of the law is the current head of the Department of Public Law at the University of Ghana Law School.
He will take over from Prof. Raymond A. Atuguba.
Prof Atupare had previously served as the Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Cape Coast before joining the University of Ghana.
Biography of Prof Atupare
Prof Atupare has admirable credentials as a lawyer and academic.
He holds a Qualifying Certificate from the Ghana School of Law, 2013; a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law, Queen’s University [Canada], 2011; an LL. M. (Thesis Option) from the Faculty of Law, Queen’s University [Canada], 2008; an M. A. in Comparative Politics from Brock University, 2007; an L.L.B from University of Ghana, 2006; and a B.A in Political Science from University of Ghana, 2003.
His area of expertise include Criminal Law, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Human Rights, Private International Law, Law of Torts, and Jurisprudence and Legal Ethics
Prof Atupare has done impressive research on Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Law of Torts, Conflict of Laws, Human Rights, Socio-Legal Studies, Law and Society, Administrative Law and Health Law and Ethics.
His work in the areas of Constitutional Theory and Human Rights has earned him global respect and admiration. He is well-published author in the area of Law.
