Prof. Seidu Alidu wins Tamale Central NDC primary with 840 votes

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) delegates in the Tamale Central Constituency have elected Prof. Seidu Alidu, Associate Professor and Head of the Political Science Department at the University of Ghana, as their new parliamentary candidate.
Prof. Alidu secured victory with 840 votes out of 1,551, emerging as the clear winner in a tightly observed contest that drew significant attention within the party and beyond.
Voting took place earlier today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, where 1,551 delegates gathered to decide who would lead the NDC into the September 30 by-election.
The by-election will determine a successor for the late MP, Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who tragically died in a military helicopter crash on August 6.
The elections were conducted under strict measures to ensure transparency and order.
