Professionals must lead too – GREDA secretary

The Executive Secretary of the Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA), Samuel Amegayibor, is calling on Ghanaians to move past empty talk and start focusing on real action.
Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show, Amegayibor introduced what he called “NATO” – not the international alliance, but an acronym for “No Action, Talk Only” – a mindset he believes is holding the country back.
“We should all go out and forget about NATO — No Action, Talk Only — and instead focus more useful deeds,” he stressed.
He bemoaned how many professionals enter politics only to abandon the very skills and values they built their careers on.
“You see people who know what to do — they enter politics and completely forget their background, their knowledge, their profession. Everything gets thrown away. Then they become the very politicians we complain about.”
Amegayibor pointed out that the country needs to rethink its leadership culture — one that allows and encourages capable professionals to take the lead without getting lost in the system.
“I’m not attacking lawyers. I’m just sharing an example. We need to look at leadership differently. Professionals must be allowed to lead too,” he said.
