Work is being done – Senyo Hosi optimistic about judicial reforms

Convenor of the One Ghana Movement, Senyo Hosi, has expressed cautious optimism about gradual reforms taking place within Ghana’s judicial system.

He said while challenges remain, there are visible signs of structural changes aimed at improving justice delivery and accountability, especially in corruption-related cases.

“But for where I sit today, as somebody passionate about this matter, what I see is work being done. I say this because I see structural reforms resetting. There is some resetting happening gradually within the judiciary,” Hosi observed on JoyNews.

He explained that meaningful reforms in both investigations and judicial processes are necessary to ensure timely and effective resolution of cases.

“Those steps are being taken. We need reforms in the judicial process itself. When the investigations are done, we can have expedited trials and bring resolutions to these things,” he added.

Hosi also stressed that the current political landscape provides the best opportunity for reform, urging the government to act decisively.

“Right now, in Parliament, they have an absolute majority, which is why if we don’t get the reforms now, then we are certain that John Mahama never meant us well,” he remarked.

His comments align with the objectives of Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), an initiative launched by the ruling NDC government for the recovery of state funds lost through corruption and mismanagement.

ORAL seeks to strengthen institutional accountability, ensure the prosecution of corruption cases, and push for systemic reforms within the justice sector.
