A 2020 post on galamsey fight exposes Stan Dogbe’s double standards

A post by Deputy Chief of Staff Stan Dogbe has emerged on social media exposing his double standards in the fight against galamsey.

The post, which he made while in opposition in 2020, drew the attention of Ken Ashigbey, who was then advocating against galamsey, to a report by Prof. Frimpong Manso, who confirmed that the NPP party was involved in galamsey to fund the party.

He indicated in the post that the spirited fight against galamsey was a sham mentioning that it was confirmed by the then Environment Science and Technology Minister, Prof. Frimpong Manso.

However, today, Stan Dogbe, who is in office as the Deputy Chief of Staff, commented in response to Ken Ashigbey’s advocacy against galamsey, tagging him as a member of the opposition NPP.

Ken Ashigbey, who has been at the forefront of the galamsey fight, posted, “Around the Simpa township on the Tarkwa to Takoradi road, there is galamsey happening in clear sight. Is the MCE not aware? HE John Dramani Mahama, please, this MCE cannot be representing your interests. I can see it from the road today, Sunday, the 5th of October 2025. They are working and polluting the waters”.

Stan Dogbey’s comments in response to Ken Ashigbey’s post drawing the President’s attention to a disturbing issue read, “If your government, in the 8 years of your ‘coloured’ fight, had demonstrated the political will and clear strategies deployed in the last 9 months, I guess we would not be here.

Instead of gaining on negativity as a form of advocacy, you and your team, as advised by the president, should keep up the fight, but I add do it constructively and stop hiding behind political bias to gain a voice”.

His comments have come as a shock to many who believe that the Deputy Chief of Staff has no conscience.

For many, it questions the genuineness of the government’s commitment to the fight against illegal mining when they now see people whom they urged on to fight against illegal mining as proponents of the opposition political party.
