Quayson joins Foreign Affairs ministry—Ablakwa reacts

Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Hon. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has extended a warm and heartfelt welcome to newly appointed Deputy Minister, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson.

Taking to social media, Ablakwa celebrated the appointment as both a professional reunion and a personal joy. “I am absolutely thrilled to welcome my dear brother and great friend, Hon. James Gyakye Quayson to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he wrote.

Recalling their shared history, Ablakwa highlighted their collaboration during the fiercely contested Assin North by-election in 2023, a campaign that ultimately ended in victory for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). “We worked closely together in Assin North in that famous 2023 victory; we have always worked together in Parliament with our offices on the same floor,” he noted.

Now, with Quayson officially joining the Foreign Ministry, Ablakwa believes the duo is poised to achieve even greater things. “And now, fortuitously, we get to work together at the Foreign Ministry to deliver more victories for God and Country,” he added.

He concluded his message with a sincere congratulations and a warm welcome: “Congratulations my distinguished brother. Welcome aboard.”
