Ras Mubarak slams Asiedu Nketia over “Thank You Tour”; calls it a distraction to gov’t

Former Member of Parliament for Kubungu, Ras Mubarak has questioned the thinking behind the decision of Asiedu Nketia to go on a Thank You tour.
National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has announced a thank you tour across the country.
According to reports, his tour will begin in the Eastern Region of Ghana where he will address party faithful and thank Ghanaians for voting the NDC back to power.
But Ras Mubarak believes it’s an unnecessary venture as the president has embarked on a similar exercise after he was voted into power.
He believes that Asiedu Nketia is setting a dangerous precedent which should never be encouraged.
In a post shared via social media, he said “Thank you tours are led by candidates (Presidential or Parliamentary candidates if it’s a constituency tour) who lead a party Into an election in partnership with party executives.
Never throughout NDC’s history has a National Chairman after an NDC victory decided his going on a “Thank You Tour” aside what the flag bearer has done or is doing.
This is a dangerous precedent and an unnecessary distraction to the government. Nobody must be allowed to hide under a “Thank You Tour” to advance their premature presidential ambitions. It’s intolerable and the Chairman must be bluntly told so.
