The death toll as a result of the stampede at the screening process of the military recruitment currently ongoing has increased.
Reports in the local media say 6 more people have died with their bodies deposited at the 37 military hospital morgue.
Earlier, the military had confirmed the death of six with several others injured and receiving care.
They indicated that their medical teams were working to stabilize those who sustained several degrees of injuries.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the stampede was triggered by an unexpected surge of applicants who breached security protocols and rushed into the gates ahead of scheduled screening at about 0620 hours.
