Respect legal process in CJ case

Public Relations Officer of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA), Saviour Kudze, has called for calm and a respectful observance of due process as discussions swirl around the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
“It will not be fair at this point to be judgmental because there’s an ongoing process… I think that it would be fair to allow the process to flow through to the logical conclusion,” Kudze said during an appearance on the Asaase Breakfast Show.
His comments come in the wake of heightened public interest and political debate following the Chief Justice’s suspension.
Kudze expressed concern over the manner in which the issue is being publicly dissected, particularly by lawyers and members of the political class.
“The unfortunate thing is that we hear lawyers also discussing this… even drawing conclusions on an ongoing process, which to me is not a proper thing to do.
“If the two major political parties are discussing it along political lines, I think we are losing the importance of the constitutional process itself,” he added.
