Rest well, Osanju — Ashanti Regional Minister grieves influencer’s death

Ashanti Regional Minister Frank Amoakohene has paid tribute to Osanju, the young Ghanaian social media influencer whose sudden death shocked many across the country.

Sharing his reflections on social media after attending the late influencer’s funeral on Saturday, the Minister described Osanju as a beacon of creativity and inspiration for many young people in the digital space.

“Today, I attended the funeral of Osanju, a young and vibrant social media influencer whose untimely passing a few weeks ago shocked many across our region and beyond.

Osanju represented the voice, creativity, and aspirations of many young people in the digital space.

His energy, optimism, and influence were inspiring, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

May his soul find eternal rest, and may his legacy continue to remind us of the power of purpose, kindness, and positive influence.

Rest well, Osanju,” Amoakohene wrote.

Osanju, whose real name was Elvis Frimpong, rose to prominence on TikTok and Instagram, where his humorous videos and thoughtful messages earned him thousands of followers.

Behind his joyful presence, however, was a quiet battle with leukaemia, a condition he publicly shared with his fans in 2023.

According to reports, Osanju’s health deteriorated in early September 2025.

He was first rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital and later transferred to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, where he passed away.

An autopsy later confirmed that leukaemia was the cause of death.

His family disclosed that he had been undergoing treatment and was expected to respond positively, but complications set in during his final days.
