Sacrifice built the NPP, not money – KT Hammond to ‘bragging’ aspirants

Former Minister of Trade and long-serving Adansi Asokwa legislator, KT Hammond, has lashed out at New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirants who flaunt their wealth and boast about financing the party.
Speaking during former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign tour in the Ashanti Region, Hammond questioned the whereabouts of these aspirants when the party was in dire need of resources, especially ahead of the 2000 elections.
“When we wanted money to build the party, where were all these people who are now bragging and insulting all of us with their money? The party was so broke prior to the 2000 election, where were all these people?” he quizzed.
The outspoken former MP stressed that the party’s survival and eventual electoral victories were the result of sacrifices made by committed members, not the financial muscle of today’s aspirants.
“Many of our stalwarts dedicated themselves and committed their resources to make the NPP formidable and victorious which enabled us to form a government. Where were all these braggarts?” he added.
