SC adjourns judgement on IMANI, Aning case over appointments of heads of uniformed security services

A Vice President of Policy Think Tank, IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has expressed his disappointment is the decision to adjourn the ruling on their case on appointments of heads of uniformed security services.
According to him, the court had already finished dealing with the case, and all that was left was a ruling.
Although he acknowledges that the suspension of the chief justice is a grave issue that will affect the case, there is no excuse for the ruling to be delayed.
In a Facebook post registering his disappointment he said “Today May 7, was the day for the Supreme Court to give Judgment in the case of ImaniAfrica and Prof. Aning v Attorney General, seeking a declaration that the President cannot sack security chiefs.
We were in the SC today to hear the judgment, but were informed that The SC has adjourned the delivery of the judgement Sine Die (indefinitely)..
We are disappointed because we concluded this case months ago and expected that the judgment would be ready by now.
We are aware that the suspension of the CJ who was the president of the panel will have some effect, but we also expected that the judgment would be ready by now seeing how crucial and transformational this case is.
In any case, we are here; we will therefore wait for the court to call us back and render the judgment”
