Sergeant Addo Mensah’s last words surface after tragic helicopter crash

Sergeant Ernest Nii Addo Mensah and his two deceased comrades were officers of the Ghana Armed Forces stationed at the Takoradi Air Force Base.
According to reports, the young airman had recently tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony—videos of which have now resurfaced on social media in the wake of his untimely death.
One clip, in particular, shows Ernest and his bride exchanging vows in front of a minister, a moment now made all the more heartbreaking as tributes pour in.
The chilling last words of Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah have gained fresh attention following his death in a tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people, including two ministers of state and other high-ranking security officials.
The group was en route to Obuasi for a security conference aimed at tackling illegal mining—commonly referred to as galamsey—when the helicopter went down in the Sikaman forest in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
Among the victims were the Minister for Defence, Dr Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed. Also killed were Deputy National Security Coordinator Limuna Muniru, former Ashanti Regional Minister Dr Samuel Sarpong, and former MP Samuel Aboagye.
The Ghana Armed Forces identified the military personnel lost in the crash as Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah.
