She sees herself as a queen mother — Ansa-Asare accuses former CJ of abusing legal process

Renowned lawyer Mr. Ansa-Asare has taken a swipe at Ghana’s former Chief Justice, accusing her of arrogance and undermining the sanctity of judicial processes.
Mr. Ansa-Asare likened the former Chief Justice’s recent actions to what he called “an abuse of process,” arguing that her behaviour since leaving office has tarnished the dignity of the judiciary.
He criticised her for challenging a matter after it had already gone through all legal procedures.
“You’ve been given an opportunity. You presented your case. You were heard, cross-examined, re-examined and all that,” he noted on the KSM show monitored by MyNewsGh.
“Then you turn around to say the whole process was flawe,d and therefore you aren’t going to go away. It’s only infantile minds that do that sort of thing.”
According to the outspoken lawyer, the former Chief Justice appeared to treat the office as if it were a traditional stool, describing her demeanour as “queen mother-like.”
“If you look at the posture now, it’s like a queen mother,” he said pointedly, suggesting that the symbolic reverence attached to the office had “entered her head.”
Mr. Ansa-Asare maintained that such conduct disrespects both the institution and the legal profession.
“It’s unfortunate when people allow the office to define them, rather than serving the office with humility,” he said.
