Sir Obama’s continuous detention confirms his arrest was because of his criticism of IGP

Some leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) suspect foul play in the decision to keep Sir Obama Pokuase in police custody even though he has met all bail conditions.

According to posts shared via social media, they are of the keen view that his arrest and detention are fueled by his constant criticism of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) over his incompetence since taking over the helm of affairs.

Akbar Yussif Rohullah Khomeini who is a Lawyer and an aide to the former Vice President of Ghana, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in a post shared via social media, could not fathom the delays by the police.

In a post shared via social media, he stated, “After meeting all the bail conditions and the court, having verified the same requested that the CID execute the bail for Sir Obama.

The police have been deliberately avoiding the execution by saying they have to write to the Controller to verify the payslips.

It is becoming increasingly clear that Sir Obama’s criticism of the IGP is the real issue since the police themselves have admitted to the authenticity of the video he shared.”

Sir Obama Pokuase, who is a known social media activist of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), was picked up from his residence in a Rambo-style by operatives of the national security.

He was arraigned and was granted bail with three sureties. Although he has met the bail conditions, the social media activist has not left police custody.
