A six-year-old girl named Lifaya has been found dead in a parked vehicle at the Suame Market in Kumasi, days after she went missing.
According to her father, the child could not be found after her mother returned from the mosque.
“The mother went to the mosque and came back, but our daughter was nowhere to be found. We searched everywhere, even checking all the vehicles at the fitting shop, but she was missing. Sadly, we have now identified her body,” he said.
He expressed concern about how the girl was not found during the initial search but was later discovered in the same area.
“We suspect foul play because it is baffling that she wasn’t found in the vehicles initially but was later discovered there. This could be a calculated plot. But we leave everything to God,” he added.
Police at Suame have begun investigations to determine the cause of her death. Officers have secured the area and are questioning people who may have information.
The body has been sent to a local mortuary for autopsy as part of the ongoing investigation.
