Sophia Akuffo has lost every credibility she had before me

Spokesperson of the Movement for Change, Solomon Owusu, has launched a scathing critique of former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo following her show of support for embattled Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.
In an interview with GHOne TV monitored by MyNewsGh, Owusu argued that Sophia Akuffo’s defense of her successor was based on nothing more than personal solidarity rather than substance.
“If I were the former Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo, I would have resigned as a Council of State member this morning.
“Why? She has lost every credibility she had before me. She has lost everything,” Owusu declared.
He suggested that Sophia Akuffo’s loyalty to Gertrude Torkornoo stemmed mainly from shared personal ties.
“What she did yesterday was what we call solidarity. Yes, she knows the embattled Chief Justice in three forms. First of all, she’s a woman.
“They both attended Wesleyan Secondary School. They both have occupied the Chief Justice position before. That was the only reason she did what she did yesterday.”
Owusu insisted that Sophia Akuffo’s defense lacked merit, referencing her own past decisions on judicial matters.
