Price pressures are easing across the board

Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson has assured Ghanaians that price pressure is easing across the board.
He made this known while announcing that inflation has dropped in November 2025, the lowest since the 2021 rebasing and the eleventh consecutive month of decline.
The Minister explained that he is especially delighted by the sharp fall in food inflation, down from 9.5 percent in October to 6.6 percent in November.
His post announcing this read “Inflation has dropped to 6.3 percent in November 2025, the lowest since the 2021 rebasing and the eleventh consecutive month of decline.
I am especially delighted by the sharp fall in food inflation, down from 9.5 percent in October to 6.6 percent in November.
And it is not just food. Price pressures are easing across the board.
Local inflation has slowed from 8.0 percent to 6.8 percent, while imported inflation has fallen even faster, from 7.8 percent to 5.0 percent.
This is real, measurable progress”.
However, there are concerns about the increase in utility tariffs in the country. They share the view that if inflation is falling, it will be imperative that tariffs rather fall but that has not been the case in recent times.
To consumers, it will be imperative for government to provide a better explanation to the issues.
