The Executive Enhancement and Innovation, World Youth Clubs in USA, Mr. Glenn .D. Permuy has stated that STEM Education paves the way for innovation as well as solving the complex problems that our communities faces.

He stressed that the role of STEM education had never been more critical and believed that “STEM education does more than impart knowledge but fosters a mindset of curiosity, critical thinking and problem-solving”.

According to him, the skills would enable our youth to navigate the challenges of tomorrow and to innovate solutions for a sustainable future.

“Through STEM, we are not just teaching our children what to think, but more importantly, how to think”, he disclosed.

Mr. Permuy who was the guest speaker at the grand finale of the WYC-Math and Science Quiz(MSQ) Competition 2025 organized by Boys and Girls Club, Anomabo commended the club for their collective commitment to empowering future leaders, scientists, engineers and innovators.

“The WYC-MSQ Competition exemplifies the essence of what we strive to achieve, igniting a passion for learning and discovery among our youth. It’s a testament to what can be accomplished when we invest in our children’s future, when we provide them with the tools to explore, question, and solve,” Mr. Permuy observed.

“As we move forward, let us continue to support and invest in STEM education, recognizing its vital role in enabling our youth to thrive in an increasingly complex world”, he appealed.

The founder of Molex Foundation, Dr. Patrick Essie who added his voice to the STEM Education said his foundation is actively engaged in promoting STEM Education across the continent with an aim to nurture a generation of problem-solvers who will drive the technological and scientific advancements that are essential for sustainable development.

“I have recognized that education alone is not enough. That is why am passionate about integrating STEM with Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to equip our youth with the practical skills and hands-on experience they need to thrive in an ever-changing world. TVET, when aligned with STEM, offers a powerful combination of knowledge and skill, preparing young people not only for careers in science and technology but also for leadership roles in industries that are shaping the future”, Mr. Essie stated.

“I am personally committed to this cause. I believe that as we empower our youth with the knowledge and skills of STEM and TVET, we are not just offering them an education, we are offering them hope. We are offering them the opportunity to make their mark on the world, to challenge the status quo and to lead the way in creating a Ghana and Africa that is economically self-sufficient, innovative, and forward-thinking”, Dr. Essie said.

He charged the beneficiary students who participated in the quiz competition to know that they were the future of this country so their hard work, dedication, and brilliance that they shown in the competition were just the beginning.

“The world is waiting for you to step forward, to embrace the power of Science, Mathematics, and Technology, and to take your place as the architects of tomorrow”, Dr. Essie urged.
