Stop the blame game, NPP’s defeat was collective – Kabiru

The Member of Parliament for Walewale, Hon. Abdul Kabiru Tiah Mahama, has dismissed attempts to blame the NPP’s election loss on a single individual, stating that the party must accept collective responsibility.

“Every single member of the New Patriotic Party must take responsibility for what happened. If we lost, we all lost together,” he asserted.

According to him, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia gave his all in the campaign, visiting all 276 constituencies, making it unfair to single him out for blame.

“If I were Dr. Bawumia and people were blaming me for everything, I would fight back. He put in the effort and gave his all. If scientifically, it is proven that either he, the party machinery, or any other factor caused the defeat, then we can address it,” he argued on Good Morning Ghana on Metro V monitored by MyNewsGH.

He called for a detailed and factual assessment to determine the true causes of the party’s electoral defeat.

“No scientific investigation can establish that one person was responsible for the NPP’s defeat. The whole party was responsible, and it is important to come to terms with that reality,” he emphasized.

Hon. Mahama also noted that Dr. Bawumia remains committed to the party and will only make future political decisions based on thorough analysis.

“He would only present himself to the good people of Ghana if, after assessing the facts, he believes he still has something to offer and the party sees him as the best option,” he clarified.
