Residents of Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality are reeling from the suspected ritual killing of a five-year-old girl, whose body was discovered under disturbing circumstances on the evening of Monday, May 12, 2025.
The young girl is reported to have gone missing shortly after her mother left her and a younger sibling asleep at home to attend to an errand.
Upon returning, the mother discovered the child was missing, prompting an immediate search by family and neighbors.
The search led to a chilling find: the girl’s blood-stained clothing was located on the premises of one Ahiable Yao David, a fan milk vendor and known choir member of a local church.
Police were alerted and they commenced a full investigation.
During a subsequent search of the suspect’s residence, officers reportedly uncovered a buried pot beneath his bed containing human body parts believed to be those of the missing child.
The suspect, Ahiable Yao David, fled the scene and is currently on the run.
Law enforcement authorities have launched a manhunt and are appealing to the public for any information that could lead to his arrest.
The incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, with many residents expressing horror and disbelief. Calls for swift justice and tighter security measures are growing louder as the town mourns the loss of the child.
