Take the window of quietude for therapy

Nigerian businessman and politician Ned Nwoko has publicly responded to posts made by his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, regarding their children.

Nwoko’s team described the recent posts as “misleading and inconsistent with long established family practice.”

Speaking through his communication team and sighted by MyNewsGh, Nwoko emphasised that “publicly sharing moments involving the children has never been new, unusual, or controversial within the family.”

He added that Daniels had previously shared images of both her own children and those of other wives without objection.

The statement further addressed claims that Daniels had been prevented from seeing the children. Nwoko insisted that her “prolonged absence has been by choice, not force,” and that the children have been safeguarded in a stable environment prioritising their care and emotional balance.

Nwoko also defended the encouragement for Daniels to seek therapy, stating, “Encouragement to seek rehabilitation is not punishment, nor is it cruelty.

Children deserve a parent who is emotionally present, mentally sound, and sober most of the time.”

The court previously ruled in favour of Nwoko, directing Daniels to undergo rehabilitation and assessment by the Abuja Social Welfare Department before she can regain access to their children, Munir, 5, and Khalifa, 3. The substantive case is scheduled for February 4, 2026.
