Tamale Teaching Hospital responds to reports on patient’s death due to Medical Negligence

The Tamale Teaching Hospital has responded to allegations of medical negligence in the death of a patient transferred to the hospital.
The statement issued by the management on Sunday, April 20, 2024, explained that the deceased was transferred to the hospital for a procedure that could not be done at the hospital.
Also, all four intensive care unit beds, which serve the entire Northern Ghana, were fully occupied at the time of the patient’s arrival.
The statement urged the general public not to draw premature conclusions into the matter, as a committee has been constituted to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
