The disrespect for party is at an alarming rate; it’s very worrying

The General Secretary of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua, has told persons interested in taking up leadership roles in the party that they can’t continue to disrespect the party.
The General Secretary was speaking on the decision to go against the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) to contest in the rerun that took place at Ablekuma North recently and the kinds of things people wrote on social media about NEC’s decision.
To him, there are persons who want to take up positions in the political party but have failed to respect the party and even the very existing structures in the party which should not be the case.
Justin Kodua, who was speaking on Accra-based Asempa FM on Monday, July 21, 2025 was peeved such developments are taking place.
He sent a note of caution to persons who believe they can disrespect the party that they will be dealt with if they try such after the party has elected a flagbearer in 2026 and they continue on that tangent.
“People must learn to respect the party. Is the position for someone? You to become a flagbearer, but the very body you’ll use to become a flagbearer, you want to undermine it. You want to become a party leader, but you disrespect the ones who are currently there? That must stop”.
