The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) is celebrating Disaster Risk Reduction Day with students at Basic and SHS levels in the District.
The meeting aims to educate and equip students with basic information about disasters, as the country has experienced numerous incidents that have resulted in homelessness and even loss of life.
The District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Zurri Wilfred informed news reporters that he will support NADMO through the central government to provide essential resources, enabling them to effectively manage disaster situations and assist affected individuals and communities.
Hon. Zurri Wilfred mentioned that he found the district NADMO store and warehouse to be empty upon his arrival. He further stated that he and the Member of Parliament for Kintampo South, Hon. Felicia, are collaborating to restock the warehouse.
Finally, the District Manager for NADMO, Mr. Joefel Anarfi Mensah appealed to both the government and individuals to support NADMO in addressing potential disasters in the District .
Mr. Anarfi expressed gratitude to the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Her Excellency Lordina Mahama, and the Member of Parliament for Kintampo South for her consistent support whenever they reach out to her.
