The monumentally incompetent EC must resign—Kofi Bentil

A vice president for Think Tank, IMANI Africa, Kofi Bentil, has backed calls for the removal of the leadership of Ghana’s Electoral Commission.
It will be recalled that the chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress, in an interview with Accra-based Joy News, called for a reset of the Electoral Commission.
He argued that the electoral management body is led by people who have proven to be incompetent, considering various developments under their leadership.
In a post shared via social media with regards to the EC’s announcement that they will be rerunning elections in some 19 polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency, Kofi Bentil indicated that the current EC is monumentally incompetent.
He explains that they are led by individuals who are not fit for purpose and will do the country a lot of good if they resign from their positions.
“We’ve been saying this for years. This EC is monumentally incompetent and not fit for purpose. They should all Resign,” he said.
Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party has insisted that they will challenge the decision of the electoral commission to order a rerun of the election in some 19 polling stations in Ablekuma North.
