The NDC majority will benefit all citizens – Ayariga vows

Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga has assured Ghanaians that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will wield its two-thirds majority in Parliament responsibly, with a focus on delivering key reforms to benefit the entire nation.

“For the first time in a very long time, the NDC has two-thirds in this House.

“With this number, we can do many good things for this country and carry out significant constitutional reforms to make Ghana better,” Ayariga said.

Speaking on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, after the swearing-in of Ewurabena Aubynn as the newly elected Member of Parliament for Ablekuma North, Ayariga emphasized that the NDC’s legislative dominance—184 seats plus four independent allies—comes with immense responsibility.

“I want to assure Ghanaians that what President Mahama said during his swearing-in still stands: the NDC will not abuse the majority given to it by Ghanaians.

“We will use it wisely, properly, and ensure it benefits all citizens,” he added.
