The new NIB Board will operate with independence and professionalism—Ato Ato Forson

Finance Minister Cassiel Ato Forson, PhD, has assured the new board of governors for the National Investment Bank that they will work as an independent body.

According to him, the board will be allowed to work professionally to better the fortunes of the bank.

The minister gave this assurance when he inaugurated the 8-member board of the bank.

He said in a post shared via social media that “Today, I had the honour of inaugurating the new 9-member Board of Directors for the National Investment Bank (NIB). Under this new leadership, NIB will operate with the independence and professionalism it deserves.

The minister used the opportunity to announce that the government has decided to recepitalize the bank to make it more effective to help in the resetting agenda of the country.

“I am pleased to announce that the government has made a bold decision to recapitalize NIB. Fuller details of this comprehensive recapitalization plan will be unveiled during our upcoming mid-year review,” he announced.
