The wicked people are now online

Tacha has come out strongly against online trolls and fake narratives surrounding the viral video of Nigerian influencer Asherkine and a young lady identified as Becky.
The video, which appeared to capture a sweet interaction, quickly turned controversial when online users began to spin a dramatic backstory.
The storm began after Becky claimed she had never been in a relationship, a statement reportedly made to impress Asherkine.
However, the internet erupted when a man surfaced, claiming to be her ex-boyfriend of two years.
He backed his claims by releasing screenshots of alleged chats between him and Becky, in which she supposedly lied about visiting her mother — a cover for going out with Asherkine.
But Becky wasn’t having it. She dismissed the man’s claims outright, stating:
“I do not know this boy. I have never had a boyfriend before and nothing will change my statement.”
She also questioned the identity being used to drag her online, insisting the name in circulation wasn’t even hers.
In a video shared on Instagram, Tacha criticized the Nigerian social media space for blowing up an innocent video with lies and fake receipts.
“They’re no longer in the village — the wicked aunties and uncles our parents warned us about are now on Twitter Nigeria,” she said.
Thw former BBNaija star cum nmedia personality called out the people who fabricated chats just to shame the girl involved, suggesting the viral scandal gained traction because of deep-rooted misogyny.
“The average Nigerian man sees Nigerian women as gold diggers,” she argued. “That’s why they quickly believed a false story just to drag a woman for attention.”
She also encouraged Becky to consider legal action against those spreading false claims and warned the public against participating in online bullying out of “bitterness or boredom.”
In a final jab, Tacha made it clear who she believed the real villains were:
“The wicked people our parents warned us about are now online… Twitter influencers, bloggers – all of them.”
