Their promise of change is a sham– Afenyo-Markin slams NDC

Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has launched a scathing attack on the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of failing the Ghanaian people and undermining key democratic institutions.

Speaking at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) National Delegates Conference held at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, July 19, 2025, Afenyo-Markin criticized what he described as a dangerous pattern of governance under the NDC administration.

“Their vow to reset our nation has become a brazen assault on our judiciary, starting with a shameful vilification of our Chief Justice,” he charged.

“Their promise of change, a sham, with schemes afoot to funnel our mineral wealth to their cronies.”

He also cited the violent incidents surrounding the recent Ablekuma rerun, where NPP candidate Nana Ekua Afriyie, former MP Hawa Koomson, and some journalists were reportedly targeted by NDC-linked attackers.

“Worst of all, their questionable Ablekuma rerun, where NDC-affiliated attacks have tired our candidates… expose their willingness to trample democracy with violence,” he added. “The message is clear. NDC is a fai. lure. Ghana deserves better.”
