This is a national tragedy – Ekow Assafuah reacts to military helicopter crash

Member of Parliament for Old Tafo, Ekow Vincent Assafuah, has described the recent military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several government officials as a national tragedy.
Reacting on Facebook shortly after news of the incident broke, Assafuah wrote, “This is a national tragedy. Very, very sad,” capturing the grief and shock felt across the country following the fatal crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District of the Ashanti Region.
The tragic accident claimed the lives of Defence Minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Environment Minister Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator Muniru Mohammed, NDC Vice Chairman Samuel Sarpong, and former parliamentary candidate Samuel Aboagye.
The aircraft, a Ghana Armed Forces Z-9 helicopter, was en route to Obuasi when it went off radar on the morning of Wednesday, August 6.
All three crew members—Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah—also died in the crash.
