This statement is categorically false – Sam George demands retraction over Lexus gift claim

The Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George, has strongly rejected claims circulating on social media that he received a Lexus vehicle as a gift in breach of a directive issued by then-President John Dramani Mahama.

Reacting through his lawyers at Korsah & Ackah @ Law, Sam George described the allegations as defamatory and misleading, warning the individual behind the post, P.K. Sarpong (also known as Whispers), to “cease and desist” from further spreading falsehoods.

“It has come to our attention that you falsely allege that Hon. Samuel Nartey George received a Lexus vehicle as a gift—purportedly in violation of a directive issued by H.E. John Dramani Mahama to his ministers,” the letter stated. “This statement is categorically false.”

In the letter dated May 20, 2025, signed by Israel Ackah Esq., the law firm stated that the claims were not only baseless but published “with the apparent intention of tarnishing the hard-earned reputation” of the Minister.

“You are fully aware that your publication is devoid of truth. Nonetheless, you have proceeded to make this misinformation public,” it noted. “Such conduct is defamatory and injurious.”

The Minister is demanding the immediate removal of the post from P.K. Sarpong’s Facebook wall, a public retraction, and an unqualified apology, all within seven days of the letter’s date.

Failure to comply, the letter warns, “will leave us with no option but to initiate legal proceedings against you, including but not limited to a defamation suit, without further notice.”
