Those who disagree with me, please continue — Asiedu Nketiah says during Thank You tour

The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, has clarified that his ongoing nationwide “Thank You” tour is not a campaign strategy for a presidential bid in the 2028 elections.
The NDC Chairman emphasized that the tour is part of his effort to express gratitude and maintain open engagement with party supporters and Ghanaians who contributed to the NDC’s progress.
“I want to be known as a grateful National Chairman,” he told party members and traditional leaders in Hohoe, Volta Region.
“I want to continue my tradition of deliberate engagement with our people. Those who disagree with me, please continue with your disagreement, it’s part of our contest of ideas.”
Mr. Nketiah, popularly known as “General Mosquito,” explained that his visits are meant to strengthen internal unity within the party, rebuild trust, and ensure effective coordination ahead of the 2024 general elections. He urged members not to read political ambition into his actions.
“Our focus is on building trust through action,” he continued. “We ask our supporters to stay united and continue backing the government so that we can deliver on our mandate.”
He also appealed to the grassroots to remain steadfast and avoid internal divisions, assuring them that the NDC leadership remains committed to addressing the challenges facing citizens and to providing competent leadership in governance.
