Three dead, several injured in fatal Tatale–Zabzugu accident

An accident on the Tatale–Zabzugu road has left three people dead and more than ten others injured after a Kia truck carrying traders from the Kukpalgu market crashed into a stationary Motorking tricycle late Friday, October 24.

According to eyewitnesses, the tricycle had broken down earlier and was abandoned in the middle of the road, lacking proper lighting and warning signals.

The Kia truck, registered GW-5828-17, was returning from the market when it collided violently with the unlit vehicle.

The impact was fatal. Two victims died instantly, while a third succumbed to injuries upon arrival at the Tatale District Hospital.

More than ten others sustained varying degrees of injury and are currently receiving treatment at the same facility.

Eyewitnesses say poor visibility played a major role in the crash, with the bright lights from an oncoming vehicle from the Zabzugu direction reportedly blinding the Kia driver, preventing him from spotting the tricycle in time.
