Time no dey like that

Dennis Miracles Aboagye, aide to former Veep Bawumia has taken a swipe at the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing the administration of abandoning its core mandate while ordinary Ghanaians suffer under worsening economic and social conditions.
In a fiery social media post, Miracles Aboagye painted a bleak picture of the state of the nation, alleging that “galamsey is on the rise with NDC Party officials leading the charge in the destruction of our water bodies and forests.”
He also pointed to humanitarian and security crises, noting that “48,000 Ghanaians have been displaced in the President’s own region, 13,000 are now refugees in Ivory Coast, and we are witnessing broad daylight shootings and killings right in the center of the city.”
Turning to the economy, he accused the government of gross mismanagement.
“The dollar keeps dancing up and down as prices of goods continue to rise.
Business owners continue to struggle in accessing dollars for their trade, while fuel prices are racing back up as if there’s a chase.”
He further lamented the loss of livelihoods, claiming that “35,000 Ghanaians have been dismissed from employment since January 7th, and the much-touted 1-3-3 shift jobs are on ice.”
According to him, the NDC administration has failed to provide a clear strategy for navigating the country’s challenges.
“There is no clear blueprint or strategy from this NDC government in dealing with the challenges of the nation,” he stressed.
Despite this state of affairs, Miracles Aboagye argued, the government has rather chosen to focus on targeting its opponents.
“This government has occupied themselves with raiding homes of the opposition party members like armed robbers all in the quest to silence and suppress their voices.
“Knowing very well this is 2025. You can’t suppress voices,” he wrote.
He concluded with a direct appeal. “We plead with this government to focus on the core job. Pick their manifesto and simply implement the promises therein. Time no dey like that!”
