TNYOU Fitness, Health Ministry lead Ghana Walk 2025 to raise NCD awareness

As part of its 10th anniversary celebrations, TNYOU Fitness, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, organized a national health awareness event dubbed Ghana Walk 2025 on May 10, 2025.
The walk was a key initiative aimed at raising awareness and educating Ghanaians on the increasing burden of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) in the country.
The 10-kilometre walk, which drew over 500 enthusiastic participants, started and ended at the University of Ghana, taking a route through American House, UPSA, and PRESEC.
The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of physical activity in the prevention and management of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, and cancer.
According to the World Health Organization, NCDs account for about 43% of all deaths in Ghana, with sedentary lifestyles, unhealthy diets, tobacco, and alcohol use among the leading risk factors.
TNYOU Fitness, which has supported over 5,000 women in achieving healthier lifestyles over the past decade, is now leveraging its milestone to bring national attention to this pressing public health issue.
The involvement of the Ministry of Health highlights the importance of the initiative and its alignment with broader government efforts to reduce the impact of NCDs on individuals and the national healthcare system.
“The Ghana Walk is not just a celebration of movement, but a national call to action for healthier living,” said a TNYOU spokesperson.
“We want to inspire Ghanaians to take proactive steps toward better health and foster communities that support wellness.”

The event was made possible through the support of key sponsors, including Stanbic Bank, IT Consortium, Ghana Link Network Services, Promasidor Ghana, Special Ice Company, Nusite, Voltic, Macks Commodities Ltd, and The Babynest.
Strategic partners included the University of Ghana, KGL Foundation, L’AINE HR, GB Foods, and Farmers Haus, with Sunny FM serving as the media partner.
As part of its year-long anniversary celebrations, TNYOU Fitness has lined up additional events, including Worship with Purpose on June 14, Wellness Festival on September 27, and Healthtastic on November 8, 2025.
