Two students miss Maths paper after being locked up by headmaster over fees

According to a report by Citi News, two candidates from Big Six International School in Meduma were unable to sit for the first paper of the ongoing Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) after reportedly being locked in a room by their headmaster.
The students, who were scheduled to take their exams at Simms High School in Fawoade—designated as the official centre for candidates in the Kwabre East Municipality of the Ashanti Region—missed the Mathematics paper on Monday.
According to reports, the headmaster allegedly detained the candidates over unpaid school fees, barring them from leaving the school premises in time to write the exam.
The incident has sparked concern among education stakeholders, with many questioning how such a punitive measure could be allowed during a critical national examination.
