A lecturer at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Professor Amedeke, has been found dead after being reported missing by his family.
His body was discovered buried at his residence in Gyahadze, a suburb of Winneba in the Central Region.
The police made the discovery on Friday, May 17, 2025, during a search operation following days of concern over his whereabouts.
According to police sources, the professor is believed to have been attacked during a robbery.
An insider who spoke to MyNewsGh said the professor struggled with the suspect during the incident but was eventually overpowered and killed.
One suspect has been arrested and is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
After locating the burial site, the police exhumed the body, which has since been sent to a medical facility for autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
