UK Bar Council’s call for Torkorno reinstatement nonsensical

Deputy Education Minister, Dr Clement Apaak has condemned the UK Bar council over their calls for Ghana’s suspended chief Justice to be reinstated.

He views their call as “nonsensical colonial insult” .

Indicating that Ghana’s president will not succumb to their orders and demands.

Dr Apaak said “Dear UK Bar Council and Commonwealth Lawyers Association,

Ghanaians will not tolerate such nonsensical colonialist-induced insults, disguised as demands, from you. Never! You can not order our President to “Immediately and without delay reinstate the Chief Justice of Ghana”.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General has given a strong indication that the Chief Justice will remain suspended until the inquiry is over.

He indicated in a press statement issued on August 15, 2025 that there has been no breach of Ghana’s constitution.
