UK-based Nigerian nurse found dead after days of silence

The Nigerian community in the United Kingdom and beyond is mourning the untimely passing of a young nurse, simply identified as Nurse Miriam, who was recently found dead in her apartment in Leeds.

Her sudden death has sparked an outpouring of grief, with friends and fellow healthcare workers expressing shock and sorrow over the news.

According to a widely circulated post by social media user @ronkecarew, Miriam had just returned from Nigeria where she had traveled for her wedding introduction.

Her partner was expected to join her in the UK later, making the tragedy all the more heartbreaking.

“Her last shift was on last week Sunday and her friend tried reaching out to her from Sunday but no response so she filled a missing report only for police to find her dead in her room,” the post read.

It’s understood that after several unanswered calls and messages, a friend filed a missing person’s report. Authorities later discovered Miriam’s lifeless body in her residence.

The details surrounding her death remain unclear, but her passing has left many devastated. Tributes have since poured in across social media platforms, with messages remembering her as a dedicated nurse and a kind soul.

“Report has it that she has just come bk from Nigeria after her introduction but her partner hasn’t joined her yet. May her soul rest in perfect peace,” the post added.

The nursing fraternity in the UK, especially among the Nigerian diaspora, continues to process the loss of one of their own—someone who gave her all in service to others, yet left the world too soon.
