Vice President breaks silence after hospitalization, shares Eid message

Vice President of Ghana, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, has spoken publicly for the first time since receiving urgent medical care at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).

The Vice President, who was reportedly taken ill after work on Friday, March 28, and admitted to UGMC on Saturday, March 29, has now issued a message to the nation, addressing Ghana’s Muslim community on the occasion of Eid Mubarak.

In her statement, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang extended warm wishes to Muslims across the country, recognizing their contributions to Ghana’s development.

“On this blessed occasion, I extend my warmest wishes to you and your families. Your dedication, values, and contributions enrich our nation and the world. May this celebration bring you joy, peace, and renewed strength,” she stated.

Despite her recent health challenges, the Vice President also took a moment to appreciate the outpouring of support and well wishes she has received in the past few days.

“Likewise, I would like to say thank you to everyone for the kind sentiments and well wishes this weekend,” she added.

While details about her current health status remain limited, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang’s message reassures the public that she is in high spirits and appreciative of the nation’s support during this period.
