Vice President donates to Nsawam Prisons and Accra Psychiatric Hospital to mark birthday

Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has extended appreciation to all who celebrated her birthday on November 22 while highlighting donations made on her behalf to two key institutions.
In a statement shared on Facebook, she confirmed that her Chief of Staff, Alex Segbefia, led a team to present assorted items to the Nsawam Prisons.
“They presented cash, bags of rice and sugar, boxes of oil, sardines, water, and soft drinks to the facility.
“I also asked them to present sanitary towels for the female inmates,” she noted. She added that the delegation was warmly received by Deputy Director of Prisons, Commander Patrick Thomas Seidu, and his team, who expressed gratitude for the gesture.
Another group, coordinated by Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, visited the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to donate food items and a cooked meal on her behalf.
“They donated rice, sugar, tinned fish, tomatoes, water, cash, and a cooked meal to all the patients,” she said. The donation was received by Dr Peggy Asiedu Ekremet, Deputy Clinical Coordinator, along with senior officials of the Mental Health Authority and hospital staff.
The Vice President thanked all who reached out to her on her birthday and encouraged continued compassion toward vulnerable groups.
“I want to thank every single person who sent me good wishes and prayers for my birthday. I don’t take your kindness for granted at all.
“We must continue to thank God for His mercies and also remind others that they matter, even when their circumstances are very difficult,” she wrote on social media as sighted by MyNewsGh.
