WAEC releases 2025 BECE results

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2025 BECE for School Candidates.

In its statement issued on Saturday, August 23, WAEC confirmed that 177 candidates had their entire results cancelled, while 718 others lost some subject results over examination malpractices.

Additionally, 93 candidates had their entire results withheld and 1,240 had certain subject results withheld, pending investigations.

The Council further noted that subject results from candidates in 119 schools have been cancelled, while those from 87 schools remain under scrutiny. A final decision on the withheld results will be announced by September 6, 2025.

WAEC explained that school results will be sent to the respective institutions through the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education. Candidates may also access their results on the official website, www.waecgh.org.

This year’s examination recorded 603,328 candidates from 20,395 schools, including students with special needs, across 2,237 centres nationwide. A total of 2,526 candidates were absent.

The Council urged the public to ignore fraudsters claiming they can alter results, stressing that WAEC results remain secure and verifiable.
