We are not supporting criminals, but due process must be followed – Nyindam

MP for Kpandai Constituency, Matthew Nyindam, has called for fairness in the legal process regarding Kwabena Adu Boahen’s case, emphasizing that no one, including the Attorney General, is above the law.
“We sincerely think that nobody is above the law. Nobody, including the Attorney General, is above the law, and crime is crime,” he stated in an interview on GHOne monitored by MyNewsGh.
He made it clear that his party is not in Parliament to support criminals, but rather to ensure due process is followed.
“We are not in as NPP Minority to come and be supporting criminals—that is not what we are doing. But we think that the person should be given a fair trial,” Nyindam argued.
He stressed that the court, not public opinion, should determine guilt, warning that premature condemnation could have serious consequences.
“If you, the Attorney General, who is supposed to protect all of us, start condemning someone before the courts, we think that is not fair,” he said. He cautioned that if the case does not hold in court, public trust in the judicial system could be undermined.
