Focus on all actors, not just Adom-Otchere – Assafuah tells OSP

Vincent Ekow Assafuah has urged the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) to broaden the scope of its investigations into the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) revenue assurance contract, instead of focusing disproportionately on former board chairman Paul Adom-Otchere.

The Old Tafo MP pointed out that while Mr. Adom-Otchere chaired the GACL board, the contract in question was implemented by management, which had operational authority.

“Current developments appear to focus primarily on Mr. Adom-Otchere, despite the operational authority resting with management,” the MP stated.

He emphasized that any meaningful investigation must involve all relevant stakeholders within the governance structure, not just individuals with public visibility.

“Investigations must engage all key actors within the governance chain equally and be guided by institutional memory to properly understand the decisions that were made,” he added.

While affirming his support for the rule of law and the OSP’s anti-corruption mission, Mr. Assafuah warned against what he described as “targeted humiliation.”

“This is not to pre-empt the OSP’s work. We support the rule of law. But the rule of law also demands restraint, balance, and a presumption of innocence—not targeted humiliation,” he concluded.
