We don’t care too much about Ghana, but they’re tough

Croatia head coach Zlatko Dalic has acknowledged the strength of the Black Stars ahead of their upcoming World Cup meeting, describing Ghana as a difficult and highly competitive opponent.

Speaking after Friday’s draw in Washington, Dalic openly praised Ghana’s pace and quality while highlighting his personal relationship with former Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan.

“We don’t care too much about Ghana. I know Asamoah Gyan is my friend; he played in my team when I was at Al Ain. But it’ll be a very tough game for Croatia. The Ghana team is very strong and very fast,” Dalic said.

Ghana and Croatia will face each other in the final round of Group L fixtures, a match that could play a decisive role in qualification.

The group also includes England and Panama, making every point crucial for progression.

Dalic’s comments reflect Croatia’s awareness of Ghana’s threat, even as his side carries significant pedigree on the world stage.

Croatia’s biggest achievement at the FIFA World Cup came in 2018, when they finished as runners-up after reaching the final against France.

The national team has also consistently reached the knockout stages in multiple tournaments, cementing its status as one of Europe’s strongest football sides.
