The Ghana National Fire Service has doused the fire that razed down a rubber manufacturing company, Charkieh Plastics & Packaging Co. Ltd., this morning in Weija.
In a Facebook live stream from the scene, officials of the Ghana National Fire Service indicated that the fire was fought with 7 appliances from Weija, Kasoa, Anyaa, Circle, Industrial Area, National Headquarters, and Dansoman.
The service in their livestream indicated that they were containing the fire from affecting adjoining buildings; however, it was difficult because the fire involved plastics.
From the live feed, the Ghana National Fire Service explained that the fire started when plastics in the company caught fire.
However, they are yet to ascertain the cause of the fire as Eyewitnesses say the fire started at about 12 midnight.
