We’re not in a campaign of Insults – Bawumia to NPP flagbearer contenders

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called for a respectful and idea-driven campaign in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) upcoming flagbearership race, as more than 490 youth organisers picked up nomination forms on his behalf ahead of the January 2026 presidential primary.

“I want this flagbearership election to be conducted with decorum,” the former Vice President and 2024 NPP flagbearer he addressed his supporters.

“We’re not in a campaign of insults, and we should not be in a campaign of insults. It should be about ideas. And that is what will capture the imagination of Ghanaians.”

He urged aspirants and supporters to focus on what they can contribute to the country’s progress.

“What ideas do we have? What are we bringing to the table? How are we going to solve the problems Ghanaians face?

“As a party, I admonish everybody, all the aspirants and our supporters, that let us focus on marketing or selling our respective aspirants,” he advised.

The youth organisers, comprising substantive and deputy leaders from constituencies nationwide, presented the forms to Dr. Bawumia after collecting them from the party’s head office.

They described him as “the only candidate capable of securing victory for the NPP in the 2028 general elections,” praising his leadership record and vision for Ghana’s future.
