What we are experiencing now is not dumsor- NPP’s Kojo Poku

Former Flagbearer hopeful for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kojo Poku has indicated that the country is not experiencing dumsor.

According to him, there are existing challenges in the energy sector and that is what is playing out.

He emphasized that unlike the previous Mahama administration where they lacked supply to meet demand, there is enough supply this time around.

“I will not conclude that we have dumsor per my understanding of what dumsor is. I know dumsor to be when we don’t have enough supply to meet demand. However, as a country we have enough supply so I will not describe the power cuts as dumsor,” he stated.

“In the Ashanti Region, they were building a bulk supply point but they did not communicate it very well to the people there for them to understand hence the challenge,” he explained to Vim Lady on Accra-based Okay FM.

However, from the start of the year, several parts of the country have been experiencing power outages.

These outages are affecting businesses and individuals and has affects how they live their lives.

There are calls on the Energy Minister to provide the people of Ghana with a timetable in order for them to plan their lives and ensure their businesses do not struggle.
